The States Braces for Protests Over New COVID Rules

Published

Good web design has visual weight, is optimized for various devices, and has content that is prioritized for the medium. The most important elements of a web page should have more visual weight to “naturally attract” a visitor’s attention.

Good design is making something intelligible and memorable. Great design is making something memorable and meaningful.Dieter Rams

Most users search for something interesting (or useful) and clickable; as soon as some promising candidates are found, users click. If the new page doesn’t meet users’ expectations, the back button is clicked and the search process is continued.

A good website should be easy to navigate

Not all websites are made equal. Some websites are simple, logical, and easy to use. Others are a messy hodgepodge of pages and links.

Without website navigation, your visitors can’t figure out how to find your blog, your email signup page, your product listings, pricing, contact information, or help docs.

Quick and easy access to the content they’re after is more important for your website users than a… visually-stunning design.

Creating visual rhythms in your layouts

In design, rhythm is created by simply repeating elements in predictable patterns. This repetition is a natural thing that occurs everywhere in our world. As people, we are driven everyday by predictable, timed events.

Why does Bluetooth use lossy rather than lossless compression

One of the best ways to use repetition and rhythm in web design is in the site’s navigation menu. A consistent, easy-to-follow pattern—in color, layout, etc. Gives users an intuitive roadmap to everything you want to share on your site.

  • Direct the Eye With Leading Lines
  • Balance Out Your Elements
  • Use Elements That Complement Each Other
  • Be clear about your “focal points” and where you place them

Diving into UX and UI design

UX and UI: Two terms that are often used interchangeably, but actually mean very different things. So what exactly is the difference?

Styles come and go. Good design is a language, not a style.Massimo Vignelli

UX design refers to the term “user experience design”, while UI stands for “user interface design. Both elements are crucial to a product and work closely together. But despite their relationship, the roles themselves are quite different.

Breaking down the barriers

Design is not the end-all solution to all of the worlds problems — but with the right thinking and application, it can definitely be a good beginning to start tackling them.

Alhaji Abdulmajid Dan Bilki Commander, a Kano-based chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has disclosed that campaigning for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election was the biggest regret of his life.

Commander stressed that in his entire life, there has never been any decision he regretted so much than campaigning for the former Lagos State Governor.

According to the ruling party chieftain, the President has failed many Nigerians who voted for him in 2023, given the performance indicators available to every Nigerian.

Commander, who claimed to remain an active APC member, regretted dedicating his time and resources to convincing people to vote for the party.

“It pains me, but it is the truth, and let the truth be told. I am an active member of APC, but I must admit that Nigeria’s administration under APC has failed Nigerians, and as an individual who had dedicated his time and resources in convincing people to vote for the party, I want to state here that I am regretting my action,” he told Daily Trust.

The Kano politician also declared that he must seek their forgiveness as a representative of the masses, given that the APC-led government has not delivered on its promises.

Commander added that Nigerians are suffering, and their expectations from the APC government have not been met.

Another Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member of the House of Representatives, Rep. Salisu Koko, who represents the Koko-Besse/Maiyama Constituency of Kebbi State, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Amos Magaji, representing Kaduna’s Zango Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency, defected to the ruling APC during Tuesday’s plenary.

The Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, who made the announcement on the floor of the house during plenary in Abuja on Wednesday, told the APC caucus to welcome Koko as one of them.

Abbas quoted Koko as attributing his defection to the protracted crisis in the opposition PDP.

However, the Minority Leader, Rep. Kingsley Chinda, raised a point of order, saying there was no ‘protracted’ crisis in PDP.

Chinda urged the house to acknowledge the consequences of defection without compliance with the provisions of the constitution.

Supporting the minority leader, Rep. Ben Etanabene amplified what he called the consequences of the defection, which, according to him, included the lawmaker’s vacation from his seat.

The speaker, however, overruled the point order, saying that the house had no powers to implement such constitutional provisions.

He, therefore, urged the aggrieved lawmakers to approach the appropriate quarters to address the issue.
