Ligue 1 manager believes PSG are better without Mbappe
PSG, under the guidance of former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique, have been in dominant form in Ligue 1, scoring 16 goals in their opening four fixtures while conceding just three.
Reflecting on his team’s heavy defeat against PSG, Roy pointed out the noticeable difference in PSG’s playing style now compared to last season.
The reigning Ligue 1 manager of the year said, “Collectively, they are a lot better than last season. When they lost the ball, everyone made an effort; they were well-organised. It was less easy for us compared to last year.
“PSG without Mbappe? They run a lot more.”
PSG make perfect start to Ligue 1
PSG’s flawless start to the campaign has been a statement of intent, as the team looks to continue their dominance in France and challenge in Europe.
The departure of a player of Mbappe’s calibre was expected to destabilise the squad, but the opposite seems to have happened as the Paris club appear to be flying in the league.
Luis Enrique’s side are playing with a sense of unity and fluidity that was missing in previous campaigns, and they will undoubtedly be the team to beat in Ligue 1 this season.
