In an interview with Corriere della Sera via Tutto Napoli, Giuntoli spoke about how difficult it was to bring Osimhen to Napoli.
Cristiano Giuntoli responded to a question about his most difficult purchase, “Maybe Victor (Osimhen). It took me four months to bring him to Naples.”
Osimhen went on to help Napoli end their 33-year Serie A title drought by scoring 26 goals in 32 games, more than making up for the hefty transfer fee.

Osimhen took centre stage on the news when his deadline-day transfers to Chelsea and Al-Ahli fell through.
After the transfer window in the major European leagues closed, the 25-year-old later joined Galatasaray on loan.
Giuntoli believes Napoli ought to have moved sooner rather than waiting until the summer of 2024 to sell Osimhen.
He continued, “Perhaps he should have been sold earlier, but Aurelio is an intelligent and astute entrepreneur. I owe him a lot, I love him.”
Meanwhile, Osimhen’s Galatasaray will face Keneth Omeruo’s Kasimpasa in the Turkish League this weekend.
