The minister highlighted the importance of completing the ongoing projects under his ministry, particularly those related to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The newly appointed Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Alhaji Yusuf Abdullahi, has pledged to deliver Kano State to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
Abdullahi, who stated this while briefing newsmen shortly after arriving in Kano on Sunday, also pledged his dedication to advancing President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He expressed his commitment to key into the renewed hope housing programme of Tinubu, commending the president for his appointment.
Abdullahi also promised to ensure that APC recaptures Kano State in the 2027 General Elections.
“This appointment is for the citizens of Kano State and Nigeria.
“I assure the President that, God willing, Kano State will return to be an APC stronghold in 2027.
“My appointment is primarily due to the political significance of Kano Central, a region with a substantial voter base.

“I will continue to be present in my ward and constituency to strengthen our political base,” he explained.
The minister highlighted the importance of completing the ongoing projects under his ministry, particularly those related to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He also expressed confidence in his ability to deliver on these commitments, drawing on his experience as a former Speaker and Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly.
“Kano Central has the highest vote. It has 65% of the registered voters and has no major appointments.
“But just now, the president has appointed me, and going by what they said, I have been in the House of Assembly since 1999.
” I was a speaker, majority leader, and Special Adviser to the Governor. So, we have all the confidence to win Kano State,” he said.

Former President Muhammadu Buhari was laid to rest on Tuesday, July 15, at his residence in Daura, Katsina State, drawing an emotional close to a chapter in Nigeria’s political history.
The late President’s body arrived in Nigeria from the United Kingdom earlier in the day and was received with full state honours at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport, Katsina.
President Bola Tinubu, who flew in from Abuja, arrived at 1:42 p.m. and was on hand to personally receive the remains of his predecessor.
A guard of honour was mounted for the Commander-in-Chief, shortly before the Nigerian Air Force plane transporting Buhari’s body touched down at 1:51 p.m.

According to family sources, the body was first taken to Buhari’s Daura residence, where his immediate family and close relatives offered a private farewell.
A few solemn moments were observed before the casket was moved to the community’s central prayer ground for the final rites.
“It was a dignified and peaceful farewell,” a family member told reporters. “We are grateful he returned home and was buried according to his wishes.”
Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s President from 2015 to 2023, died in a London hospital on Sunday, 13 July 2025, after a prolonged illness.
His passing triggered tributes from global leaders and Nigerians across political divides.

In a brief remark at the airport, President Tinubu described his predecessor as “a patriot who loved Nigeria till his last breath.”
Security was tight in and around Daura, as thousands gathered quietly to witness the late leader’s final journey.
Traditional rulers, senior government officials, and members of the armed forces were present to pay their respects.
The former military ruler and two-term civilian President is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
