“So what I did, I go with the ball and I always do that. I put my legs first for you to kick it, then after you get the red card.

Mikel then replied, “They wanted to win and they knew, you know, I was a young player, I was full of fire.

“I wanted to compete and that was what the premier league was about. You just said it now that everybody finds a way to win. It doesn’t matter how you win dirty or which way you want to win, you have to win.”

Meanwhile, the ex-Man United star has told Mikel Obi that Sir Alex Ferguson will struggle to coach modern players.
