Falz Responds to Defamation Allegations by Social Media Influencer Verydarkman. Nigerian rapper and activist Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has addressed recent defamatory claims made against him by social media influencer Martins Otse, also known as Verydarkman. During an interview on The Afro Beat Podcast published on YouTube, Falz dismissed the allegations as baseless and defamatory.

Falz shared that he was initially unfamiliar with Verydarkman’s activism but had seen some of his early content, particularly around the sale of unregulated bleaching products, which he believed was a good cause. However, the controversy arose when Verydarkman accused Falz and his father, renowned human rights lawyer Femi Falana, of colluding with certain individuals to manipulate justice.

Adding to the accusations, Verydarkman claimed that Falz was in a homosexual relationship with crossdresser Bobrisky, a claim that Falz firmly denied. “These are horrible things to say. Absolutely no proof,” Falz said, expressing his shock at the allegations.

In response, Falz has taken legal action, suing Verydarkman for defamation. He clarified that, contrary to recent reports, there has been no court order for financial compensation of N500 million. Instead, the court ordered the influencer to take down the defamatory video and refrain from making further defamatory statements pending the outcome of the case.

Falz concluded by stating, “The case of defamation is still very much in court,” emphasizing that Verydarkman must prove his accusations, and that the legal process will continue to address the false claims
