Dvpper Digital, the distribution arm of the Dapper Group, has been instrumental in shaping the group’s ongoing success and its impact on the Nigerian music industry.

This subsidiary, led by Ademola Alugo as Head of Distribution and Sani Bawa Ibrahim as Deputy Head of Distribution, has been a driving force behind some of the most iconic hits and albums in recent years.

As a subsidiary of the influential Dapper Group, Dvpper Digital has emerged as a defining force in the nation’s music distribution landscape, capturing 7.97% of Nigeria’s streaming market share from Q1 to Q3 in 2024 alone. This achievement reflects not only the company’s growth but also its profound impact on the global reach of Nigerian music.

From Mr. Real’s chart-topping Legbegbe and Omah Lay’s groundbreaking Get Layd EP, to the viral sensation KPK by Rexxie featuring the late Mohbad, Dvpper Digital has consistently delivered.

The company also played a key role in T.I BLAZE’s remarkable success in 2022, recognized by Audiomack as one of the most-streamed Nigerian artists that year.

More recently, Dvpper Digital has reinforced its industry dominance with projects like Shallipopi’s Presido La Pluto and Shakespopi albums, as well as Seyi Vibez’s Nahamciaga, Thy Kingdom Come, and Loseyi Professor, further cementing its reputation as a powerhouse in Nigerian music distribution.

Beyond its digital distribution prowess, the Dapper Group also excels in artist development through its record label, Dapper Music Entertainment. Known for nurturing talent with unique sounds and identities, Dapper Music Entertainment boasts a robust roster that includes superstars like Balloranking, Lasmid, Bhad Boi OML, Tml Vibez, and Zerrydl, among others.

The label’s artist management strategy is built on a deep understanding of both talent and branding, ensuring that each artist not only demonstrates remarkable skill but also connects with audiences through a strong, relatable personal brand.

This approach has allowed the label to build sustainable relationships with fans, driven by consistent creative output.

Leading this innovative approach is Kelechi “CHOPPER” Akwari, who serves as Senior Vice President and Head of A&R for Dapper Music Entertainment. Under his leadership, the label has solidified its reputation for discovering and developing some of the most dynamic and diverse talent in the Nigerian music scene.

A key component of Dapper Music’s success is its partnership with Virgin Music, a collaboration that has amplified the global reach of its artists. Through this partnership, the label has expanded its artists’ presence worldwide, ensuring that Nigerian music resonates far beyond the country’s shores.

Additionally, the group’s role as a music distributor ensures that artists seamlessly receive royalties, both locally and internationally, a crucial aspect of sustaining a thriving music career.

In addition to distribution, the Dapper Group also houses S94 Publishing, a vital arm that assists artists in licensing their music, monitoring usage, and collecting royalties. This service guarantees that artists are compensated fairly for their work, ensuring that their creative efforts are protected and rewarded.

Through its subsidiaries, innovative approach, and strategic partnerships, the Dapper Group consistently empowers Nigerian artists to expand their reach and secure their rightful place on the global stage. With a focus on high-quality work, strategic growth, and the nurturing of talent, the Dapper Group is poised to remain a formidable force in the Nigerian music industry for years to come.

‘She’s dying’ – Zicsaloma accuses LUTH of medical negligence towards his cancer-stricken mother

Nigerian comedian and content creator, Zicsaloma, has publicly condemned the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) over gross mistreatment and neglect of his mother, who is currently battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy.

In a distressed Instagram video, the skit maker, real name Aloma Isaac Junior, detailed a harrowing ordeal, claiming that hospital personnel at LUTH refused to admit his critically ill mother despite the urgency of her condition.

According to him, she had recently developed severe post-chemotherapy complications that prompted a desperate dash to the hospital. But rather than receiving emergency care, she was allegedly denied access at the gate and left unattended.

“She’s a skeleton of herself,” he said emotionally. He revealed that when they arrived at LUTH, she was not only turned away but also made to wait for hours outside the gate. “Do you know when we took my mum to LUTH, the hospital refused to let her in?” he said. “They now pointed us to a test centre beside LUTH, where we should go and do it. We now took the result back to the hospital. They refused to let my mum in.”

According to him, the hospital claimed only a doctor could authorise entry. But when one was finally called to assess the situation, he “literally walked out,” refusing to assist. “She cannot even stand. I literally backed my mum.”

Zicsaloma slammed what he described as a lack of compassion in Nigeria’s medical system. “Our medical team, the doctors of Nigeria, are terrible.” He added, “If you see my mum, she is a skeleton of herself.”

Frustrated and heartbroken, the skit maker painted a grim picture of the situation. “If somebody is ill in this country, the person can just die. You are seeing a lifeless woman. That cannot stand.”

He concluded his emotional outcry with a strong criticism of the healthcare system, saying, “These hospitals, they need to be checked.”

‘There is no forgiveness’: Seyi Law on why he can never support Peter Obi

Nigerian stand-up comedian, Oluwaseyitan Lawrence Aletile, popularly known as Seyi Law, has said he can never support Peter Obi, presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general elections.

The funnyman made the revelation in a recent interview on the Teju Babyface show, saying the former Anambra State Governor can never have his forgiveness.

Seyi Law pinpointed the actions of Peter Obi’s supporters, the Obidients, as the reason why he holds a grudge against him.

He claimed Obidients insulted his wife and children because he backed President Bola Tinubu while Peter Obi stood by and refused to call them to order while also failing to admit that his supporters attacked those who did not support him.

He argued that the former Anambra governor’s “failure” to condemn the actions of his supporters makes him “unfit” for his support.

Furthermore, Seyi Law likened the Obidient movement to a “cult” that doesn’t “support free thinking”.

He added that Obidients crossed personal boundaries by going after his family and it is one thing he finds “unforgivable”.

“The moment you cross that boundary from me to my children, mother, and wife, there is no forgiveness. That is why there is nothing on earth that Peter Obi can do that will make me support him,” Seyi Law declared.

“They attacked my children and my wife. As long as Peter Obi does not call them to order and he keeps denying that they are doing that, he will never get my support. Let Peter Obi wear the garment of Jesus Christ today, he will never get my support.

“Hate or love me, my personal way of life is between me and God. Any organisation that does not support free thinking is a cult. I do not feel down at all because when you talk too much, I swear to you.

“One of the good things that God has done for me is that my anger does not last long. Personal anger for me does not last long. The only place it lasts long is when you leave me and attack my children, mother, and wife.”
