The 34-year-old had already suffered three knockdowns in the course of four rounds before the last strike.

The loss did not just deny Joshua his heavyweight belt but also cost Adesanya a huge amount of money.

According to ESPN Africa on X, “Israel Adesanya placed a $10,000 bet on Anthony Joshua to beat Daniel Dubois between the 10th and 12th rounds of their fight 💰. Joshua was knocked out in round five 😲.”

The MMA fighter placed a bet worth ₦16 million on the British boxer and lost the bet after Joshua lost the bout.

It was also said that the bet was meant for the 10th and 12th rounds of Anthony Joshua’s fight with Dubois.
