After watching Kane score 15 goals in just seven games this season, Bayern manager Vincent Kompany has expressed concern about his injury.

According to The Sun, Kompany told the media, “Hopefully it’s nothing serious. I’m not a doctor, but I hope he can play against Aston Villa on Wednesday.”

Max Eberl, the sporting director of Bayern, added to the fear by implying that a hard impact must have caused Kane’s exit from the pitch.

He said, “If Harry goes off the pitch, then it’s something. Now I hope he’s made of sturdy English wood.”

The England captain was left writhing on the ground in agony after Amine Adli caught him on the ankle.

After the match, Kane also provided a positive update on his injury, “Sometimes there have been red cards for something like that.

“I’m OK, but it’s a bit sore. I’ll check it tomorrow, but I think it’s OK. It doesn’t feel too bad at the moment. We’ll assess that in the next few days, but I don’t think I’ll be out for long.”

Bayern maintained their lead in the Bundesliga standings with 13 points following their goalless draw with Leverkusen.

Since the Belgian’s move from Burnley this summer, Kompany’s team has not dropped a match.
