Title contenders Arsenal needed two goals in added time to overcome a resilient Leicester City and win 4-2 at the Emirates.
Arsenal break Leicester City hearts with dramatic late win despite Ndidi’s star display. Leandro Trossard scored a 94th-minute winner as Arsenal held off a spirited Leicester City comeback to win 4-2 at the Emirates Stadium, putting them level on points with leaders Manchester City.
The Gunners started strongly, with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli testing Mads Hermansen’s reflexes. Martinelli finally broke through in the 20th minute, slotting Jurrien Timber’s cross home.
Arsenal dominated the first half, with Hermansen denying Martinelli and Kai Havertz squandering a gilt-edged chance. However, Martinelli’s clever cut-back allowed Leandro Trossard to double the lead on the stroke of halftime.
Leicester stunned the hosts two minutes into the second half, as James Justin headed home Facundo Buonanotte’s free-kick.
Arsenal responded strongly, but Hermansen thwarted Gabriel and Trossard.
The Foxes equalised against the run of play in the 63rd minute, Justin got his second by volleying home Wilfred Ndidi’s fine cross.
With Manchester City dropping points earlier, Nikel Arteta made attacking substitutions in search of a winner.
Trossard’s deflected effort finally flew past the Leicester keeper in stoppage time, before Havertz added late gloss with a close-range finish, moving Arsenal level with Manchester City at the Premier League summit.
